A free tool for pricing 3D prints, and proof that a website can be a product: type in the numbers or drop in a model, and an itemised price appears as you type.

The answer, as you type
The price recalculates on every keystroke. There is no Estimate button to press and nothing to scroll down to.
It shows its working
Every cost behind the price is listed, and any line can be switched off, so a maker ends up with a number they can defend to a customer.
Files stay on the device
A dropped STL or OBJ file is measured in the browser and fills in the time and the weight. Nothing is uploaded, because there is no server to upload it to.
Turn the screen to the customer
Client view hides the breakdown, so a print shop can turn the screen around and show a customer the price.

Anyone who sells 3D prints gets the same question all day: what will this cost? PrintCost answers it for the maker. Type the print time and the filament from your slicer, or drop in the model file, and a price appears, itemised into material, electricity, machine wear, labour, profit and a buffer for failed prints.
It runs entirely in the visitor's browser: files are never uploaded, there is no sign-up, and the settings a shop keeps, its rates, its printers and its currency, stay on its own device. It is Reidel's own product and it is free, with no ads, so the orders it earns belong to the print shops that quote with it on the spot instead of by email the next day.
Built to earn: orders from people who will not wait a day for a quote.
